JOHN GOODMAN'S DEBUT
Actor John Goodman, making his debut appearance on the Stern Show, was excited to be here after years of being a daily listener. “Even though I’ve never been here, it’s such a part of my day. I feel like I’m part of the family.” Goodman met Stern staffers after his interview with Howard but was elated to meet Richard on air. “When I went in there my lower jaw was twitching,” said Richard. Howard 100 News has more with Goodman as he exited the Stern Studios.
THIS DATE IN HOWARD HISTORY
Howard 100 News looks back at Dec. 7, 1994, the day Howard talked down a would-be jumper from the George Washington Bridge. Emilio Bonilla, then 29 and depressed, called into The Howard Stern Show. “I was just looking down and thinking let me try and call him.” Howard talking to him on air until a commuter and fellow Stern fan Helen Trimble drove by and physically restrained him. Bonilla resisted at first, but listened to Howard and allowed her to help. Bonilla tells Howard 100 News he wouldn’t change a thing about that day and Howard was a hero. “That’s what I needed. I was crying out.” Howard 100 News speaks to Emilio Bonilla and Helen Trimble 19 years after that historic Howard moment.
BENJY VS. GARY
“The proper etiquette is to respect and report to your real boss as well as who you think is your boss,” says workplace expert John Gordon, regarding the heated Benjy-Gary fight on the The Wrap Up Show last week. “Issues like this come up all the time in the workplace,” but Gordon says Benjy should work on his attitude. “He has to have the kind of attitude that I’m going to do my best work. I’m going to develop relationships with everyone on this team.”
